About Us

Beautiful view of a lake with vibrant flowers in the foreground. — Elks Lodge
Beautiful view of a lake with vibrant flowers in the foreground.

From the upper-floor dining room, you get something most Madison venues simply cannot offer: an unobstructed, sweeping view of Lake Monona right in the middle of downtown. That view alone has convinced hundreds of couples, families, and organizations to hold their most important gatherings here at Madison Elks Lodge, at 711 Jenifer Street, just steps from the Capitol isthmus.

The lodge runs on two distinct levels. Upstairs, the Supper Club atmosphere delivers classic Wisconsin hospitality, a full bar, and a menu that pairs well with that lakefront backdrop. Downstairs, the lawn-level banquet hall opens up for receptions, fundraisers, and celebrations that need serious space without a corporate-hotel price tag. Reviewers with a 4.5-star average consistently call out the courteous staff, the well-crafted Old Fashioneds, and the feeling that they stumbled onto something the rest of the city hasn't discovered yet.

Membership in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks is not required to book an event here. Non-members have hosted full wedding receptions, choosing packages that fit their guest count and budget, and walked away raving about the value. The lodge's proceeds support charitable programs throughout the Madison community, so every event held here gives back.

What We Offer

The lodge offers flexible event packages built around your guest count, making it straightforward to plan a wedding reception, milestone birthday, corporate dinner, or association meeting without the guesswork. The Silver Package and tiered options above it include catering coordination, bar service, and dedicated staff who move quickly and stay attentive throughout the event.

Banquet hall rental on the lawn level accommodates larger gatherings, while the upstairs dining room suits more intimate seated dinners with that signature lake view as your backdrop. Bar service features full cocktail capability, and the staff takes particular pride in Wisconsin classics like the Old Fashioned. Outside caterers can also be discussed depending on your event type, giving you real flexibility.

Beyond private events, the lodge hosts regular Elks membership dinners, community fundraisers, and civic gatherings that reflect the organization's longstanding commitment to Madison. Whether you're planning twelve months out or need a venue on a tighter timeline, the events team works with you directly to make the logistics feel manageable.

"We had the most amazing experience at the Elks Lodge for our wedding reception! Even though I’m not a member, my husband and I chose the Silver package, and with our guest list, we easily met the minimum just with food. The location couldn’t have been more perfect—it truly captured that “Madison” vibe. We went with the buffet option of burgers and brats, which was fun, delicious and very Wisconsin. Everyone loved it! Kaycie Strobl, the banquet manager, was an absolute dream to work with—kind, attentive, and incredibly generous with her time and effort to make our day perfect. Our reception was beautiful from start to finish. Every guest I’ve talked to has had nothing but wonderful things to say, and it was truly everything I had ever dreamed of. If you’re considering the Elks Lodge for your wedding, do it—you won’t regret it!"

"My son's wedding was at the Elks Club in Madison. The food was good and the staff were very prompt and kind. The bartenders were nice and they made a good Old Fashion drink. I really loved the wedding ceremony facing the lake. We were very happy with everything. Including welcoming our new daughter-in-law into our family."

"Attended for a wedding reception. Great view of the lake. Only complaint is that they didn’t have the AC on."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
